Wind breaking, solemn and dire, I walked with you into that other realm
Feverish they called to me, spirits adrift in old time passages
Remember them, you had shouted to me, remember this moment!
Among leaves we climbed ever driven by those beyond dark forces
I can still recall now the visage that formed before us
An ashen frown with dark eyes aglow by the moon’s embrace
You were there with me
I took the Moon Oath
Among those old statues
In the pine grove of our ancestors
Where the dusk fell silent
I took the Moon Oath
Blood call to our past
Solicited animus
A baneful tapestry
Scared yet heedless we wept upon the stones
Winged creatures enshrouded calling aloud
What havoc, you shouted, have we wreaked?!
When tears and blood meet Earthen wonder?
I the summoner, staring aghast
Among the flames no shadow cast
I broke the Moon Oath
And you were there to witness
Seamless in stride
Plunging the blade of oppression
I came accross Black Curse, and their first demo, on Greg Biehl / No Gleaming Light YT channel in late 2019 and a bit later, in 2020, as it was covid, a whole lot of time was spent at home listening to music.
In April 2020, I took a slap in my face. The songs that were already on the demo, with the new production here were so insane, it dragged me to hell. Black Curse is definitely one of the most violent band I listened in the last years. Next-level Black-Death metal for sure ! drs_dramm
There's something charming about bands that don't give a shit what you like and just do their own thing. Is it death metal? Grind? Tech hardcore? Who the fuck knows? It's fun though. Ghuughra
Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass).
Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit
